HvZ invite brings parents, students and out-of-towners together

Those leaving the football game with their parents on Saturday or adventuring up to Court Street for a drunken late-night snack last weekend could have been greeted with a curious sight — college students shooting each other with Nerf guns.

Athens’ Humans vs. Zombies Invitational game was this weekend.  Humans vs. Zombies is a campus-wide game of tag–zombies must tag humans on either arm to turn them into a zombie.  Humans protect themselves using Nerf guns or “sock bombs.”

This weekend was particularly interesting because, as an invitational game, other colleges’ students also visited to try out Athens’ special brand of the game.

Speakeasy photographer Mikah Butler captured these photos on Saturday.

OU’s fall Humans vs. Zombies game will start on Oct. 17 and continue until Oct. 24.
