The Ohio University women’s basketball team (4-6) hosted James Madison University (9-3) at the Convocation Center as part of its JMU Invitational. The Bobcats were unable to find offense on Sunday, losing 56-33.
Though the Bobcats were able to hold the Dukes to just 37.5% shooting, they simply were unable to find enough offense of their own. Guard Quiera Lampkins, who ended the contest with 11 points, was the only player for the Bobcats to reach double digits. She went 5-15 from the field, scoring half of Ohio’s field goals herself as the team went an abysmal 10-52 from the field, hitting on only 17.2% of their shots.
All the missed shots created a plus-17 advantage on the boards for the Dukes, something that certainly is not a winning formula and won’t get the job done for the Bobcats.
Ohio will look to be more efficient from the field when they take on the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, in the JMU Invitational’s third place game, set to tip off Monday at noon ET.
