Two teams with identical conference records square off on Saturday. The Ohio Bobcats (13-5, 3-2) travel to Ypsilanti, Mich. to take on the Eastern Michigan Eagles (11-7, 3-2).
The Bobcats are looking to rebound from a 58-56 loss to Bowling Green on Wednesday. Sloppy play plagued Ohio the entire game as BGSU forced 18 Bobcat turnovers. Nick Kellogg’s three at the buzzer fell short to give Ohio their second home loss in the past three games. Bowling Green’s victory marks the first time since 2009 that they have been able to win at Ohio.
T.J. Hall led the Green & White in the loss with 15 points on 5-9 shooting. The scoring outburst marked a season-high for Hall. The 15 points also matched a career-high for the senior. He also scored 15 during his freshman year in a November 27, 2010 game against Santa Clara, a game that saw former Bobcat great D.J. Cooper light up the court with 29 points.
Eastern Michigan comes off a 78-68 loss to the MAC East leaders, Akron. Eastern never had the lead during their Wednesday night game, but Kerrington Ward (Jr.) provided a bright spot for the Eagles by scoring 20 points and grabbing 6 rebounds. Ward, a 6-foot-7 forward, leads EMU in both points and rebounds, averaging 13.7 PPG and 6.9 RPG.
The Bobcats are looking for their first victory in Ypsilanti since 2006. The last time the teams met, Ohio defeated Eastern Michigan 73-50 on February 20, 2013.
The game tips at 11 a.m. EST and will be televised on ESPNU. Radio coverage will be available on the Ohio IMG Sports Radio Network.
