The inside of Boyd dining hall remains like this for the next month, and then it will all change!

I’m pretty sure that we can all agree that dining halls pretty much suck. Well, at least Boyd does. And since I live on West Green and Boyd is a 3o second walk from my dorm, that’s almost always the dining hall I eat at. I guess it wouldn’t be so bad if I wasn’t a vegetarian and an extremely picky eater. But I am so it sucks pretty badly for me.
I usually end up going coming through the kitchen line empty-handed and hungry. So I go get a salad made with wilted (and not Iceberg–it’s Romaine) lettuce. They’ll say it’s because it’s healthier, but I’m pretty sure it’s because it’s cheaper. On good days, I’ll get mac n cheese and some fries. Oh, and one day there was mashed potatoes (my favorite!) But wait–they were loaded mashed potatoes. With bacon. I don’t eat bacon. So there went my dinner.
One good thing about Boyd–Weekend Brunch! From 11-2 on Saturday and Sunday, Boyd has a pretty decent brunch! Even though I usually end up making a waffle and getting a bagel with cream cheese, the food actually looks edible!
Boyd is also closing for renovations Spring Semester, as I’m sure you all know, and will re-open next fall. Well, that’s probably not a huge deal to students that live on South or East Green, but to us West Green folks, it kind of actually blows. Sure, the food tastes like cardboard, but it’s convenient. There is apparently a shuttle that takes people from West Green to Nelson and also a food truck that will probably only serve meat based food. So I’ll probably suck it up and eat Boyd market food all of next semester.
