Becoming A Bobcat: Roommates are a necessary evil

What does a girl have to do for some peace and quiet? Having roommates is a big part about college, but they can also be a pain in the ass sometimes. My room is constant chaos. If music isn’t blasting, then Ally is talking on the phone—loudly, I may add—for hours on end. No exaggeration needed. And if Ally isn’t on the phone, then Emma is fighting with her boyfriend on Facetime or a phone call while crying hysterically. This is an everyday occurrence and I think I’ve had enough. I just can’t take it anymore.

I went to the study lounge to escape the madness and it followed me there. Literally. Ally showed up right after I got down there. A few minutes later, her phone rang. Okay just calm down.. She can’t possibly have a long phone conversation with four other people trying to get homework done, can she? Oh. She can. And she did.

After twenty minutes of frustration, I gathered my things up and headed to the lobby. It’s not the peace and quiet I’d been searching for, but I decided it was much better than any other option I had. I took out my laptop and began to type my paper.

In came Emma.

“Hey can I borrow your phone for a couple minutes?” She asked.

“Yeah, sure.” I sigh.

Now, I expected her to leave the lobby and talk, but no, she sat right next to me and dialed a number she clearly knew by heart. As soon as the person picked up on the other end of the phone, she burst into tears. I closed my laptop and just sat there. Frustrated. Annoyed. Angry. What does a girl have to do for some peace and quiet?
