Men’s Basketball: Ohio falls to Bonnies in first road contest

Ohio was unable to solve the defense of St. Bonnaventure (5-2) and fell, 81-68 on Saturday in their first road game of the season. The Bonnies switched to a 2-3 zone defense in the second half and stifled the Bobcats’ offense.

A 23-6, St. Bonnaventure run for seven minutes of the second half allowed it to pull away from Ohio. The Green & White were forced to operate around the perimeter and made just three of its 10 3-point attempts in the half. The Bobcats committed 13 turnovers in the loss.

Treg Setty recorded the first double-double of his collegiate career with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Tony Campbell led Ohio (4-3) with 20 points.

Jaylen Adams spearheaded the Bonnies’ attack with 22 points, six assists and six rebounds. Marcus Posley added 19 points and five assists. Dion Wright finished with a double-double of 14 points and 12 boards.

What’s Next

The Bobcats have a week off before their next action at Cleveland State (2-6) on December 12. The intrastate battle will take place on the floor of Quicken Loans Arena at 1 p.m.
